Our Mission

Northern California Dance Collective (NCDC), a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, is a community of people who love to dance. Our mission is to nurture body and spirit through dance and community. We sponsor events that provide opportunities for creative self-expression for people of all ages in safe, non-judgmental, playful environments.

NCDC events are organized by volunteers who make decisions by consensus. Our major annual event is an affordable family summer camp in a natural setting featuring vegetarian meals, a wide variety of movement classes, and evening boogies. Our events are free of alcohol, smoke, drugs, and chemical fragrances.

We serve as a resource to the Bay Area freestyle dance community and beyond, providing information and support to local dances. Moving together, working together, and playing together builds our community and offers us a model for the way the world can be.
