NCDC's Dance and Flow Spring Camp
Thursday April 9 - Sunday April 12 at Cedar Springs
Join us for Dance and Flow -- a collaboration between NCDC's dance community and the flow arts community in the Bay Area and beyond!
We'll find our flow together -- in dance, in yoga, in hula hooping, juggling, poi and fire dancing at Cedar Springs Retreat Center, where we can experience the beauty of nature and community as well as the joy of movement.
There will be a variety of workshops to choose from, led by experienced facilitators who know how to help you find your flow. The daytime dance workshops will primarily be freestyle and improvisational dance, and the flow arts workshops will involve the opportunity to learn new skills or up-level the skills you've got.
There will also be plenty of time to jam, hang out, play games, and swim in the lake. We'll have DJ'ed dances and performances in the evening. Some confirmed facilitators and DJs so far include Jo Cobbett leading her movement magic, Tom Truman facilitating 5Rhythms, Otillia Ward teaching hoop dancing and fire dancing, Aaron Jessup teaching juggling, and Jairo Wilches dj'ing.
The event runs from Thursday afternoon, April 9, through Sunday afternoon, April 12; we might add a Sunday night option for those who want to stay a little longer.
Registration fees are all-inclusive, including delicious, organic meals from Thursday dinner to Sunday lunch (or maybe dinner!). Our chef can accommodate a wide range of dietary preferences -- just let us know what you need.
In case you're new to Cedar Springs Retreat Center, the venue is about 3.5 hours from the Bay Area and Los Angeles. It has multiple dance and movement spaces, rustic cabins with bunk beds as well as lots of space to pitch your tent or park your van or RV, a full commercial kitchen, and two shower houses with hot showers, on 93 acres adjoining Manzanita Lake in the sweet town of North Fork.
All ages are welcome, but this will be a simpler event, with no child care provided.
RATES:
Adults -$450 low income for three nights, all inclusive
Adults - $480 middle income
Adults - $510/day higher income
Teens, 13-19 years old - $80/day
Children and infants - free! (no child care provided)
